Re: Wanting to Leave Christianity (Religion)

This post is a reply to Wanting to Leave Christianity (Religion) | Blog of a Shattered Wing

I doubt that you'll ever see my reply, but I feel that I should try and write something about it. So if you do see my reply, I hope that you are safe.

It is disheartening to read and hear about people like you who get trapped by this kind of extremist belief.

I don't want to be judging your grandmother, but she doesn't seem to be acting in good faith towards you. If she wanted to be a good Christian, she should tell you that God and Jesus love you, no matter what, and that you don't need to feel the pressure to worship them every waking moment.

Christ didn't teach his disciples to give away their lives to worship him. Quite the contrary, he taught them to be good and to treat others well, without asking any kind of recognition for himself. It does not matter what religion or faith you identify with, or if you don't identify with one at all, just be a good person and you will have done the Will of God.

One should refrain from listening to people who tell them how to live their lives, especially if they try to use scare tactics and techniques for that purpose.

This might come new to you, but there are Christians who don't even believe in Heaven and Hell. If you think that you want to keep engaging in Christianity (which I am not pushing for in any way), you might be happier while looking towards other ways of doing it.

For example, I have recently discovered Red Star Ministry through their podcast Red Star Ministry | Podcasts and I would recommend to anyone to give it a try.
